You can set up a WordPress test site locally on your computer with 5 simple steps
Step 1: Download and install WampServer on your computer.
Step 2: Download and unzip WordPress on your computer.
Step 3: Add the WordPress files to your localhost folder
Step 4: Create a database for WordPress.
Step 5: And install WordPress
Download wamp server for windows, (wamp server will change your computer to act like a web server that can respond to HTTP requests)
Click on the downloaded file and run through the installation, now you can do a search on your pc for wamp server and booth it up,
If your wamp server icon is not becoming green, that means that it haves a problem starting, most of the time the reason for that is that your computer is missing one part of software that you can download from Microsoft for free, please follow this link Here
And now wampServer is all good ready to work
Click on the green wamp server icon, and then on the www directory link, delete all the files from the folder, this will be replaced with WordPress
Browse to wordpress.org and download a fresh copy of WordPress, unzip the WordPress files, and move them to your wamp server www directory folder
Click on the green icon again, then localhost, and there we go, hello WordPress
Now we have to create the database
Click on the green wampServer icon, then on the PHP my admin link
For the user name enter root, and the password leave empty, click go
Then click on the new link, and giv the database a name, and fill out the installation wizard
Database host localhost
And it’s always a good habit for security reasons to change the table prefix to something unique
And click submit,
Now give the site a name, and create an admin username and password and email address
Log in with your newly created user name and password
And presto, your local site is fully up and running ready to create something cool
